I originally was not going to get a flu shot this winter. However, I recall the last time I had the flu. It was while GatorMan and I were just dating, and we had gone to visit his friends for New Years. I became horribly sick, and so did he. We ended up staying three days in a hotel room absolutely miserable. The next couple of years I got a flu shot. This year, however, I thought about skipping it. They hurt and make my arm sore.
I got to thinking about January, and Ukulele. And then I reflected on how horrible I felt years ago on New Years. I ended up getting the shot on Thursday after realizing that there was no way I would be able to adequately take care of a newborn if I got the flu.
This morning, however, I was very sick. No fever.... but still very sick. I still feel horrible. I'm hoping the flu shot did not give me the flu.

That doesn't seem too possible.. may be your body is allergic to the injection or just being sensitive to the injection..hope you get back allright in a day or so!
Hope you are feeling better soon. Every time I get sick I too wonder how I will cope as a mother under such conditions. Wierd to hear someone else think that!
Good for you! I hope this reaction passes quickly and the rest of your winter is blessedly flu-free.
Don't worry. The flu shot can't give you the flu. Very loving mom you are already to get the shot to protect Ukulele.
Thanks for stopping by earlier : )

Thanks for the well wishes. I'm still a little under-the-weather, but I am attributing it to a stomach bug. (Although being able to blame it on the flu shot would be good ammunition for not getting the shot next year.....)
Hi! I just administered over 50 flu shots at a clinic a couple weeks ago. The flu shot can't give you the flu- but it does take 1-2 weeks to be effective, so you can get the flu until then. Less than 1% of all vaccinated will have a mild fever and aches. (This is what I quoted to my patients from the CDC).
This is also stomach virus season- it just hit my household. If you had the flu, you'd have a fever, major achiness, and likely the pukes as well.
